While he maintains porn can be used to enhance a couple's sex life, Kerner believes men who turn to porn as a substitute when they are bored or tuned out can divert important sexual and emotional resources away from what should be their primary relationship.

In the book, Kerner tells women the most important thing they can do for the man in their life is to enjoy sex.

That means no faking, which he cautions leads to a good-sex-stifling cycle of "resentment, recrimination and anger." "Always remember that the sexiest thing that a woman can do for a man (and herself) is to enjoy sex honestly and fully," he writes.

Though he's tried to get away from the sort of technique-driven writing that inspired him to write the book in the first place, He Comes Next does feature whole such chapters - complete with diagrams - for women who want to boost their repertoire in addition to changing their attitudes.
